Stop Trying!

We need to take Scripture in context of Scripture: the purpose of the WORD (Written and Person) is NOT to serve as a moral code or example that we apply to obtain purity(a). The purpose of the WORD is to convict us of sin and point us to our Savior!

We must teach obedience and ethics in the context of grace. We have always and will always fail to meet the standard – so stop trying!

When we stop trying to meet the standard we can begin to offer a real response to this amazing grace. (So difficult to SEE the difference here because we show our love and thanks for this gift through…obedience - which may LOOK a lot like our previous efforts to meet the standard).

(a) There is NO other reliable standard to measure by - but that STILL isn’t the point of the Word of God as the Word indicates (Galatians 3, Romans 8, etc.).

Sorry for the whiplash - a serious post after a week of nonsense - such is my life. Deal with it if you can (and IF you can, let me know how, cause I really would like to know!)
