Patience

Wednesday, April 28th, 2004

I love my client in ____. These guys are VERY GOOD at what they do. They take great care of their customers and have taken very good care of the vendors I have had any connection to. They spend money wisely (especially the money they spend on me). They have lot’s [...]

TRUTH or fICTION

Tuesday, April 27th, 2004

I confess…I’m the one who forwarded Bill the email from the soldier contrasting what is happening in Iraq to the media’s approach. I am the one ashamed.
But it has raised a few questions in my mind:

Technology Gone Awry

Friday, April 23rd, 2004

My ‘host’ ran into a little trouble today with their new IP Phones (which they now sell as part of their business). Aparently someone accidentally transfered a call to the ‘paging’ line which is broadcast throughout the building. This resulted in a loud, persistent, and - dare I say - Star Trek-torture-like effect [...]

Evangelism / Emerging Church

Thursday, April 22nd, 2004

Scotty raises an important consideration in his comment on my last post:
…at some point I feel we need to be getting our hands dirty…My door is open, but maybe we need to find our way to theirs sometime….
Clearly God has intended for us to TAKE the Gospel out into the places we don’t already live [...]

Big Church

Monday, April 19th, 2004

We spent the weekend in Ohio with aunts and uncles and cousins at the wedding of Lorrie’s cousin.
Topics du jour: church activities, church ‘growth’, and church buildings. The hotel we stayed at was hosting a church-ladies’ retreat, the site of the wedding and reception was FBC of __ [large, modern, impressive]) and 1,000 new/expanding/expansive [...]

Opening Day

Friday, April 16th, 2004

70 degress, light breeze, SUNNY, immaculate field, wow. Scotty and Lorrie’s dad. THAT was a great day (except for the losing part - did someone not TELL the Indians what a perfect day that was?!? - that all they had to do was win to make it an all-time-great opening day?!?). Anyway, [...]

Ten Miles

Thursday, April 15th, 2004

Wasn’t pretty. But it’s another milestone. And it was a gorgeous day to be moving through the park (yes, I was MOVING - most of the time). You should have been there. Next week several ‘big’ runs - call me to participate.

* * TAX UPDATE * *

Wednesday, April 14th, 2004

After sleeping on it - I reviewed the returns and realized that I transposed a number (I am NOT good with math!). After fixing the problem, I had TaxSlayer recompute and the STRANGEST THING HAPPENED!

OUCH!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2004

#1 - soar throat - not overwhelming on its own, but as you will see below, it is enough that it hurts.
#2 - feet ACHE - running on Sunday I had horrible charlie-horses in both feet (at different times, thankfully). Seems to have ‘bruised’ my feet which have ached nearly constantly since (as well [...]

DST!

Thursday, April 8th, 2004

Stung again!
First, let me say that I do not find the need (in general) for Daylight Savings Time very compelling. Electric lights and television make saving an hour of daylight in the evenings less critical. I wonder why all the places that feel the need to have it light later in the evening [...]
